Hello. My name is Camille Guy.
I have been employed as a proofreader/copyeditor for 23 years. I have also freelanced for roughly the same amount of time. My main focus as an employee was in the banking, legal, medical, and online education industries. As a freelancer, I have copyedited technical manuals, self-help books, and historical fiction. I do have expertise in the following areas: gardening, needlecraft, comparative religion, Caribbean Studies, and conversion of text from U.S. English to U.K. English(and vice versa). I am a herbalist-in-training and I have a very strong interest in alternative health practices
My childhood in Trinidad and Tobago and early interest in anthropology exposed me to many different cultures and worldviews. A thirst for knowledge led me to develop diverse interests and specializations. My interests range from comparative religion to psychology to quantum physics. I am a voracious reader of cultural and historical literature, seeker of spiritual understanding, and investigator of alternative healing practices. Herbalism and aromatherapy, in particular, fascinate me.
As a lifelong hobbyist, I have gained expertise in gardening, crafting (particularly needlecraft), jewelry making, soapmaking, and the culinary arts. I must confess a minor addiction to science fiction and fantasy novels with some manga and graphic novels thrown in for good measure. My library is … packed to say the least.

I believe that each project is unique and deserves nuanced, considerate, and efficient editing. I do not believe that I know the message/story better than the author. I do believe that I can cut and polish your literary gems to best highlight what you are trying to bring to the world. Bullies infuriate me and I refuse to bully others into accepting my views. I will offer you clear precise advice along with my reasoning. If you choose to ignore my suggestions, I will not hold it against you. I am open to working with almost any material, both fiction and nonfiction. However, I will not edit any work that advocates/endorses pedophilia, bullying of any type, or violence against any group.
